Goosnargh Tennis Club

The season is well under way – Wimbledon is in its first week and we have evidenced the fitness of tennis players in the mammoth match between Isner and Mahut. The match season is now half way through with the Ribble A , B and 1st mens Fylde being undefeated, the Mens 2nd Fylde are 2nd whilst the ladies Fylde teams are both midtable and not forgetting our juniors, with the u12s who are currently in 2nd position and our U14s which fields a predominantly young team is midtable.

What’s Happening at The Club

There are a number of events coming up and as always we look to all our members to make these a success.

18th July 2pmRound Of Cunningham Cup  Goosnargh v Springfields . Will Goosnargh be able to cope with the handicap !! At Springfields – Preston Sports Arena.

Final of The Fylde interclub also at 2pm at Moorlands – 2 matches 1 day this is stretching the teams !

August : Commitee Meeting – Needed as many of the commitee as possible.

August Presidents night – come and support Eileen and the club for the Presidents night tournament

Wanted

We are still looking for a cupboard!! Has anyone got an old lockable cupboard to store equipment. Please contact Angela. Also old rackets, balls, cones, skipping ropes, outdoor play suitable for junior groups – these would be much appreciated by the coaches – if you would like to donate any to the club we would be grateful!

Membership

Bad news is that we have still not received all the subs – this is are only source of income and the club is reliant on this money to pay its bills and also to get work completed to courts if you have not paid fees these are now well overdue. Please send your cheques to our treasurer Ann Marsh.
