Fylde Mens Division 2

The 1st Fylde men’s team won back promotion to Division 1 as Champions after a number of strong performances by Ben and Jonathan Churchman, John Waddicor, Joe Dewhurst and  Thoma & Michael Luke amongst others. Next year looks like it could be a bit more challenging – can Goosnargh win the Fylde league for the first time in their history? St Anne’s may have something to say on that front….

Fylde Inter-Club Knockout

For the third successive year, Goosnargh won the Fylde Inter-Club Knockout!  This competition involves a men’s singles, ladies singles, men’s doubles, ladies doubles and a mixed doubles match. Representing Goosnargh in this year’s competition were Liz Russell, Fran McNeela, Angela McNeela, Heather Churchman, Sue Liver, Michelle Watts, Laura Blomley, John Waddicor, Joe Dewhurst, Michael Luke,  Adam, Ben and Jonathan Churchman. It’s a great competition and a real achievement that a club the size of Goosnargh can do so well.

Ribble A Team

Goosnargh won the first division again this year. Players representing Goosnargh regularly were Fran McNeela, Sue Liver, Jenny Dewhurst, Michelle Watts, Heather Churchman, Laura Blomeley, John Waddicor, Ben Churchman, Seb Bradley, Peter Bradley, Jonathan Churchman, Michael Luke and Joe Dewhurst. There have been supporting roles played by Julie Waddicor and Lindsay Leeming. There have been some excellent performances by members of the team, let us see if we can continue this for another season.

Ribble B Team

Goosnargh B wins Division 4. Julie Seed and Pam McGrath have played a pivotable role in this by winning matches and sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience with the rest of the team.  Julie Waddicor, Lindsay Leeming, Laura Blomeley and Laurna Cowgill have also made significant contributions to the ladies team. On the men’s side Dan Pearson (congratulations to Dan who had a baby!), Stuart Butcher, Malcolm Edmunds, David Fairclough, Jonathan Churchman, Adam Churchman and John Waddicor have made big improvements to the team this year.
